Karangetang [Api Siau], Sangihe Islands, Indonesia

Based on analysis of satellite imagery, the Darwin VAAC reported that on 4 October a possible eruption from Karangetang generated a plume that rose to an altitude of 12.2 km (40,000 ft) a.s.l.
