Lava Photograph At New Kilauea Summit Vent

Early this morning at about 5:30 AM Volcano Village Astronomer and International Volcano Photographer, Stephen James O¹Meara, snapped what may very well be some of the first photographs of red lava spattering from the brand new Kilauea Caldera Vent.
Looks like Pele didn¹t want to miss the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival!
